With two other colleagues, Si Hwa Ryu and Clarice Lee, I co-curated the Editorial Mode project. A compilation about the development of creating fashion editorial magazines was called Editorial Mode. Four sections made up the layout of the exhibition: a compilation of magazines from the past to the present, try-ons of historical clothing, 3D holograms depicting the development of makeup, and illustrations of the history of fashion all take place within the carefully designed setting.
MISSION
To collaboratively host an engaging and attractive fashion and beauty exhibition, combining the efforts of all three of us
The fashion & beauty theme is inherently appealing, making it an excellent choice to engage the audience. We've created props and displayed clothing and accessories for the audience to try on and take photos in the photo booth.
Holograms evoke curiosity in the audience about how they work and how they are made, providing a conversation starter for people attending the event with friends.
Another excellent and economical approach to adorn the exhibition room is with 2D projections, particularly if you're a student on a tight budget. This gives the entire show room a more appropriate ambiance and style, which was a really lovely addition.
OVERALL
Our combined efforts to continuously monitor visitors' experiences, document their interactions with displays, and encourage them to participate in our activities have resulted in positive feedback on our social media posts and ensured that everyone present and involved had a good time overall.
